Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Olisa Agbakoba has urged the 10th National Assembly to tackle the problems facing the country.<\/p>\n

The former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) said Nigeria was \u201cfacing perhaps the greatest challenge in our convoluted history\u201d.<\/p>\n

In a statement on Wednesday, Agbakoba urged citizens to pressurise the federal lawmakers to address numerous lingering issues.<\/p>\n

The SAN listed the insecurity situation, mass unemployment, broken hospitals, schools, bad roads, and the high cost of living.<\/p>\n

He urged the legislature to focus on revenue generation, saying there are \u201clow hanging fruits that can raise 100 trillion to sort out our huge problems\u201d.<\/p>\n

Agbakoba said the anti-corruption process will require overhaul, as the agencies are not \u201cplaying in harmony with orchestra\u201d and are \u201cmostly overzealous in their work\u201d<\/p>\n

The legal practitioner further called for a critical review of the legal framework of the anti-corruption agencies for effectiveness.<\/p>\n

\u201cNigerians will demand a great deal from you (legislators) to heal our wounded and divided nation,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n
