Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Kano Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf and the House of Assembly have commenced talks on the emirates set up by the past administration.<\/p>\n

Former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje established new emirates \u2013 Gaya, Bichi, Karaye and Rano \u2013 after his face-off with deposed Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido.<\/p>\n

A statement Wednesday night by Yusuf\u2019s spokesperson Sanusi Bature confirmed that the government had not taken any decision.<\/p>\n

Bature promised that \u201cthe engagements between the executive and the legislative arms of government in Kano will be open and transparent\u201d.<\/p>\n

The people of Kano will have access to information on major policies and decisions of the NNPP-led administration, he added.<\/p>\n

The Majority Leader of the Assembly, Lawal Hussaini had earlier advised the public to disregard information about any\u0308 action on the emirates.<\/p>\n

The law which established the new emirates removed 36 of Kano\u2019s 44 Local Government Areas (LGAs) from the Kano emirate.<\/p>\n

Rano has 10 LGAs: Rano, Bunkure, Kibiya, Takai, Sumaila, Kura, Doguwa, Tudunwada, Kiru and Bebeji; Gaya has 9 LGAs: Gaya, Ajingi, Albasu, Wudil, Garko, Warawa, Dawakinkudu, Gabasawa and Gezawa.<\/p>\n

Karaye has 4 LGAs: Karaye, Rogo, Gwarzo, Kabo, Rimingado, Shanono, Madobi, and Garunmalam. Bichi has 9 LGAs: Bichi, Bagwai, Tsanyawa, Shanono, Kunchi, Dambatta, Makoda, Dawakintofa and Tofa.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the legislature approved 20 Special Advisers forwarded by the governor in its maiden sitting on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The list of nominees for commissioners who will serve in the new administration would be sent to the Assembly next week.<\/p>\n
