Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has led his North-West counterparts to a meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on issues bordering on security and agriculture, among others.<\/p>\n

Radda, the chairman of the North West Governors Forum, was joined by governors of Kaduna, Kano, Jigawa, Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara states at the Presidential Villa.<\/p>\n

A statement issued in Abuja by the Chief Press Secretary to the Katsina State Governor, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, stated that the governors discussed with the President some measures they are putting in place in the region, which has been plagued by security threats, especially banditry.<\/p>\n

They maintained that for a region known for its agricultural prowess to live up to its mandate, security must be enhanced to ensure unhindered access to the farmlands by farmers.<\/p>\n

President Bola Tinubu, pledging his support, promised to work closely with the governors, who are the first to meet the President, towards improving the security of the region.<\/p>\n

President Tinubu said agriculture remains one of the priorities of his administration, and he will stop at nothing to ensure that the nation is self-sufficient in food production.<\/p>\n

The President further stated his resolve to work with the governors on providing palliatives to the citizens of their states to reduce the impact of fuel subsidy removal.<\/p>\n
