{"id":90380,"date":"2023-06-20T21:42:08","date_gmt":"2023-06-20T20:42:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/osun-apc-faults-adeleke-over-allegations-against-basiru"},"modified":"2023-06-21T00:02:10","modified_gmt":"2023-06-20T23:02:10","slug":"osun-apc-faults-adeleke-over-allegations-against-basiru","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/parties\/osun-apc-faults-adeleke-over-allegations-against-basiru","title":{"rendered":"Osun APC faults Adeleke over allegations against Basiru"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC has faulted the state governor, Ademola Adeleke for accusing a chieftain of the party in the state, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, of importation of unauthorised Policemen into the state to create confusion, mayhem and destabilize the peace.<\/p>\n<p>The state governor had in a statement issued by his Spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed alleged that Basiru had imported unauthorised security operatives into the state.<\/p>\n<p>The statement also alleged that Senator Ajibola Bashiru had submitted the list of the names of some of the top notchers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state slated for arrest.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting, Senator Bashiru, the immediate past Spokesperson of the 9th Senate described the statement by Governor Adeleke as laughable.<\/p>\n<p>Bashiru also revealed that he had given his lawyers the nod to prepare to sue the governor\u2019s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed for defamation.<\/p>\n<p>The Osun State APC acting chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement issued by the party\u2019s Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, in Osogbo on Tuesday, cautioned Adeleke to stop denigrating the institution of the police as he knows next to nothing about how the police perform their official duties.<\/p>\n<p>Lawal, who reminded Adeleke that Senator Bashiru, a Doctor of Law, is not in any way a pushover in all aspects of legal endeavours, added that Basiru knows his onions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy must Adeleke and his co-travellers be afraid of the shadow of a policeman if not that they have something to hide which makes them to be suspected fugitive to justice?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIs Governor Adeleke in his wisdom saying that the police should not do their jobs whenever there is need for them to do so?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat manner of peace is reigning in the state if not the peace of a graveyard after the blood of so many members of our party had been needlessly shed by the PDP goons in order for the PDP candidates to have undeserved victory at the polls?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are in support of the long arm of the law to deal decisively with whoever has run foul of the law of the land with impunity as was witnessed before the series of the elections in the state when no fewer than 30 members and supporters of our party were slaughtered like rams by the hired political hoodlums loyal to Adeleke and the PDP.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is no longer news in the state that some of the daredevil dangerous political thugs with which Adeleke and his co-travellers rigged the elections for all the PDP candidates are taking refuge in the Ede country home of Adeleke where they have become untouchable and living as if they are above the laws of the land.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAdeleke and his co-travellers should shed their toga of executive rascality and brazen lawlessness and promptly allow the law to take its cause if they don\u2019t have any skeletons in their cupboards.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\">Nigeria<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
