Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The leadership of the Civil Society for Malaria Control, Immunization and Nutrition (ACOMIN), has enjoined governments at all levels to increase budgetary allocations for malaria.<\/p>\n

The call, which was made on Tuesday in Jalingo by the state chairman of the organisation, Muhammad Tanko Danburan, at a press briefing, they believed, if adhered to, would go a long way to improving the fight against malaria in the nooks and crannies of the country.<\/p>\n

Apart from the call for increase in budgetary allocation for malaria, the need for the governments to as well tread extra legitimate miles to give the health sector the desired attention, the organisation believes can no longer be overemphasised.<\/p>\n

He said the decision of the organisation to advocate for improved health facilities, budgetary allocation and sensitization of citizens for improved hygiene was geared towards complementing the federal government\u2019s efforts toward eliminating malaria through community sensitization in the country.<\/p>\n

To reciprocate the governments, the citizens on their parts, Danburan said, oughtn\u2019t to prioritise their health by taking decisive actions to improve their environmental hygiene and eliminate the breeding grounds responsible for malaria-carrying mosquitoes.<\/p>\n

He stated that; \u201cWaste management systems are key in ensuring efficient and effective waste disposal and developing sustainable solutions and initiatives, aimed at improving the citizens\u2019 hygienic conditions.\u201d<\/p>\n
