Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, has stated that the club wouldn\u2019t have cared even if fullback Joao Cancelo had joined Manchester United.<\/p>\n

Guardiola said the club were not concerned about Cancelo\u2019s next destination as long as he left the Etihad Stadium.<\/p>\n

Cancelo joined Bayern Munich in the winter window on a loan deal with an option to buy for \u20ac70 million.<\/p>\n

However, the Bundesliga champions have not taken up the option, and that has left him searching for a new club this summer.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Spanish media, Guardiola said (via Euro ES Euro): \u201cI think they have informed him very badly. He is far from reality. The reality was that we decided that he had to leave.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe didn\u2019t care where he was going, even if he wanted to go to United, which is our rival. There is his agent and the clubs they agree. I won\u2019t say that they deceived him but that they misinformed him.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked about the future of Cancelo at Manchester City, Guardiola added:<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a matter of Txiki [Begiristain, Sporting Director], of City, of his representative and of the club that loves him. I have no idea [why he didn\u2019t sign for Barcelona]. We didn\u2019t get any offers.\u201d<\/p>\n
