Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) on Friday, said it has full confidence in the Department of State Services, DSS to put the security crisis in the country under control.<\/p>\n

MURIC stated this against the backdrop of the alarm earlier raised by the secret police over planned attacks on worship and recreational centres in some parts of the country before and during Eid Kabir celebrations.<\/p>\n

Recall that the DSS, in a statement by its spokesperson, Peter Afunanya, raised the alarm on Thursday that some unscrupulous individuals were planning to launch attacks on public places, asking Nigerians to be vigilant.<\/p>\n

Reacting, however, the Executive Director of MURIC, Professor Ishaq Akintola, told Vanguard on Friday that the organisation had no reason whatsoever to doubt the source of the warning of the DSS.<\/p>\n

Akintola said, \u201cMURIC has full confidence in the DSS. There is no smoke without fire. We have no reason whatsoever to doubt the source of this warning.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe security agencies led by the Nigerian Army have significantly diminished the attacking power of Boko Haram and ISIS. But that does not mean they cannot stage attacks at all.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe, therefore, urge the DSS to monitor their recent discovery with a view to debilitating it. Nigerians need peace to enjoy this Salah. We also charge Nigerians to perform their civic responsibility by acting as eyes and ears for the security agencies. See or hear something, say something,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
