Two Chinese, who were supervising government projects at Uburu community, in Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State have been kidnapped by unknown gunmen<\/p>\n
The gunmen abducted the victims, whose names were yet to be identified at the time of filing this report and whisked them away to an unknown destination.<\/p>\n
Investigation revealed that the kidnappers invaded the scene where the expatriates were supervising government projects along with an in-law to the governor, Chief David Umahi.<\/p>\n
It was gathered that the kidnappers were shooting sporadically to scare people away, in order to capture their victims.<\/p>\n
But, the governor\u2019s in-law quickly alerted the police, who responded swiftly and<\/p>\n
followed him to pursue the kidnappers but it was unfortunate that the kidnappers overpowered them.<\/p>\n
A source, who spoke to DAILY POST on the condition of anonymity, said the bullets from the gunmen damaged the governor\u2019s in-law\u2019s car but they didn\u2019t sustain any serious injury.<\/p>\n
When contacted for confirmation, the Police Public relations officer, Ebonyi police command, DSP, Loveth Odah said she was not too sure of the kidnap incident.<\/p>\n
She, however, assured of the preparedness of the command to get into the remote cause of such incident in the area.<\/p>\n
