Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has congratulated the Muslim community in Abia and across the nation on the celebration of the Eid-el-Kabir festival.<\/p>\n

This is even as he thanked the Muslim faithful in Abia for contributing immensely to his election as Governor.<\/p>\n

In a goodwill message he signed, Otti rejoiced with the Muslim community as they joined millions of others worldwide to mark the most important religious feast in the Islamic calendar, adding that this year\u2019s celebration of Eid-el-Kabir is special in the state being the first to be celebrated under the new administration in the State.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust like the great Prophet Ibrahim demonstrated his loyalty to God even to the point of sacrificing his own son, I urge us all to, in a similar manner, remain faithful and continue to uphold the leadership of the state in prayer as we strive to rebuild our state and provide the conducive environment for our people to live, work and prosper,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He used the occasion to call for peaceful coexistence among all residents of the State and promised to secure the lives and property of all residents.<\/p>\n

\u201cTherefore, I, once again, use the occasion of this Eid-el-Kabir celebration to call on all Abians to be law-abiding, live in peace with their neighbours and do not engage in any nefarious activities that would put you at loggerheads with security agencies,\u201d Otti said.<\/p>\n
