Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo has cautioned youths across the country against involvement in drug abuse, cultism and internet fraud.<\/p>\n

Oguntoyinbo warned the youths that involvement in such social vices will have negative consequences in their life in the long run.<\/p>\n

He spoke while addressing inmates at the Ibara correctional centre, Abeokuta, Ogun State on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Oguntoyinbo who used the opportunity to pay fines of four inmates convicted for various offences at the correctional centre, insisted that social vices have no positive effects.<\/p>\n

DAILY POST reports that the four inmates who had been set free after the payment included; Dare Lawal, Damilola Opebi, Shina Oyebola and Oluwasegun Ayobami.<\/p>\n

He enjoined Nigerian youths to be focused to build a better future, warning that the greatest bane to a nation\u2019s economic and social greatness is the absence of productive youths.<\/p>\n

He added that governments at all levels must work to continue to support youths with economic interventions and programmes.<\/p>\n

\u201cYoung people must be conscious of the inherent danger in social vices, such as drug abuse, cultism, and internet fraud among others and permanently shun it.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur youths must be forthright and think outside the box for the purpose of contributing their quotas to the development of our nation and making it an enviable entity amongst the comity of nations.<\/p>\n

\u201dIt is obvious that Nigeria needs vibrant and productive youths to grow and advance on all fronts. This present trend of social anomalies among our youths is indeed alarming. Government must work tirelessly to continue to support our teeming youths with an array of economic interventions and programmes\u201d.<\/p>\n
