Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers attacked travellers along the Ugwogo-Neke Road in Enugu State on Friday, and reportedly killed two persons.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred at a border between Enugu East and Isi-Uzo local government areas of the State.<\/p>\n

The Ugwogo area of Enugu State has been notorious for kidnapping activities, a situation that has made travelling on roads within the area a nightmare.<\/p>\n

According to an eyewitness, the latest incident occurred on Friday at about 7:30 pm.<\/p>\n

The source hinted that the suspected kidnappers swooped on passersby along the road, shot sporadically at incoming vehicles and killed two persons in a vehicle, went further to another vehicle and kidnapped some persons they commandeered into the bus.<\/p>\n

According to the eyewitness, \u201cChief Cyril Mbah from Neke Odenigbo-Nike was gunned down by suspected kidnappers along Ugwogo\/Isi-uzo road, near Neke Odenigbo junction.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was rushing home with his daughter in his car when he ran into a group of suspected kidnappers who suddenly opened fire on him.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately, he couldn\u2019t survive the gunshots but nothing happened to his daughter.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe kidnappers went further, fired and flattened the tires of another vehicle approaching the scene and successfully whisked away the driver and other people on board.<\/p>\n

\u201cTill now no one is certain where they are.\u201d<\/p>\n

The police in Enugu State are yet to confirm the reported attack.<\/p>\n
