Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Niger State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mu\u2019azu Hamidu Jantabo, has warned that henceforth, the state government will no longer fold its arms and allow funds allocated for the execution of projects to agencies under the ministry not being adequately utilised in the state.<\/p>\n

The commissioner gave the warning during a visit to agencies under the ministry in Minna.<\/p>\n

The agencies include; the Niger State Environmental Protection Agency, Labour House, Local Government Auditor General\u2019s Office, SUBEB and Local Government Service Commission.<\/p>\n

He noted that the ministry will now ensure constant supervision of the activities of every agency to ensure funds released are put to the right use.<\/p>\n

He assured all the agencies under the ministry of his determination to address the issues confronting them, especially the staff welfare package, with the desired priority.<\/p>\n

According to him, \u201cI reassure you that the identified challenges will be addressed as quickly as possible. Let me warn that the era of paying money to agencies without positive impact is over.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe essence of the visit is to identify agencies or institutions that are strategic to our operations to further cement the already existing relationships. I\u2019ve been council chairman for four years, and I know areas where to experience conflicts, so we want to avoid that this time around.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Abubakar Aliyu, also assured the management of the agencies and institutions visited that the ministry will not relent until all the identified issues are nipped in the bud.<\/p>\n
