{"id":95908,"date":"2023-09-22T11:26:09","date_gmt":"2023-09-22T10:26:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/esn-dss-illegally-holding-nnamdi-kanu-blackmailing-us-with-insecurity-ipob"},"modified":"2023-09-22T13:43:13","modified_gmt":"2023-09-22T12:43:13","slug":"esn-dss-illegally-holding-nnamdi-kanu-blackmailing-us-with-insecurity-ipob","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/esn-dss-illegally-holding-nnamdi-kanu-blackmailing-us-with-insecurity-ipob","title":{"rendered":"ESN: DSS illegally holding Nnamdi Kanu, blackmailing us with insecurity \u2013 IPOB"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has accused the Department of State Services, DSS, of illegally detaining its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.<\/p>\n<p>IPOB\u2019s spokesman, Emma Powerful, claimed that DSS illegally detained Kanu while blackmailing the group with insecurity.<\/p>\n<p>Powerful made the allegation while urging the public to ignore claims of neutralizing operatives of the Eastern Security Network, ESN, in Arochukwu and Enugu forest.<\/p>\n<p>A statement by Powerful said the viral pictures and videos being circulated by the Nigeria military showed they invaded the camp of Biafra National Guard (BNG).<\/p>\n<p>He insisted that BNG is not part of IPOB and has never claimed to have anything to do with the group.<\/p>\n<p>The statement reads partly: \u201cNigeria Government\u2019s desperate efforts to blackmail IPOB and ESN for over 8 years have always failed because IPOB\u2019s approach to self-determination is in line with international laws.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn desperate moves to blackmail IPOB and ESN, Nigeria Security Agents, particularly the DSS, have sponsored armed groups in Biafra Land while detaining Mazi Nnamdi KANU illegally.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut, our disciplined approaches have always exonerated the movement from these sponsored criminals.
