Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Some Muslim leaders in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, have ordered the closure of the Ogbomoso Central Mosque at Oka\u2019gbo.<\/p>\n

The Muslim leaders took the decision on Thursday due to the controversy surrounding the selection of the Chief Imam of the town, Sheikh Teliat Yinus Oluwasina Ayilara.<\/p>\n

Those who are against the selection of Ayilara said he is not from the town.<\/p>\n

Our correspondent learnt that the move by the Muslim leaders was to prevent Ayilara from conducting the Jumat service today.<\/p>\n

It was learnt that they took the decision so as to prevent breakdown of law and order.<\/p>\n

A source, who begged not to be named, said the leaders who took the decision included the Aare Musulumi of Ogbomosoland, Alhaji Abdulganiy Atanda Owodunni; the Asoju Musulumi, Alhaji Minkaheel Yussuf; the Balogun Musulumi, Alhaji Abdulrasaq Bello; and other notable leaders.<\/p>\n

The leaders, therefore, urged Muslims in the community to observe the Jumat service in mosques close to their respective residences today pending the final determination of the matter.<\/p>\n
