Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, says a total of one million, nine hundred and thirty-two thousand, six hundred and fifty four, (1,932,654) registered voters are expected to take part in the November 11th Governorship election in Kogi State.<\/p>\n

Resident Electoral Commissioner in charge of Kogi State, Gabriel Longpet stated this at the presentation of the voter register to enlighten political party representatives in Lokoja.<\/p>\n

Longpet said the presentation of the Voter Register was very significant in the schedule of INEC ahead of the November 11th Governorship election as it would help political parties know the number of registered voters in each Local Government Area of the state.<\/p>\n

He said INEC had gone through a series of activities to ensure a hitch-free governorship election in November.<\/p>\n

In his opening remark, the National Commissioner in charge of Kogi, Kwara and Niger, Professor Sani Adam, said INEC had trained technical supporters that would be used for the election.<\/p>\n

While assuring that every eligible voter would have the liberty to vote for their choice of candidate without intimidation from anyone, Professor Sani called on the electorates to come out en mass to exercise their franchise as INEC would do its best to ensure a free, fair and credible election where every vote cast would count.<\/p>\n

He added that the commission would work with security agencies to ensure that populated polling units were well secured to avoid disruption.<\/p>\n

The Chairman, Inter Party Advisory Council, IPAC, Mr Yusuf Sani while assuring of political parties\u2019 readiness to cooperate with INEC to ensure a successful election, he appealed to the commission to put their Ad-hoc staff in check to avoid unnecessary delay on election day.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, mock accreditation of voters is to take place tomorrow Saturday the 14th of October, 2023 across the state.<\/p>\n
