Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has approved the employment of 158 community nursing graduates of Dr Shehu Sule College of Nursing and Midwifery, Damaturu as part of strategy to boost healthcare service delivery.<\/p>\n

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Saturday by the Director General, Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, Mamman Mohammed.<\/p>\n

According to the statement, the newly employed health workers are graduates of two sets of community nursing of the college.<\/p>\n

\u201cSimilarly, Governor Buni has approved the payment of N10,000 monthly allowance to 393 students of Yobe State origin undergoing National Diploma and Basic Midwifery programmes at the Shehu Sule College of Nursing and Midwifery.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe approval indicates that 67 of the benefitting students are also entitled to 11 months arrears of the allowance\u201d, the statement added.<\/p>\n

Buni urged the newly employed health personnel to be dedicated to serve the people better.<\/p>\n

He also charged them to key into the reform programme of the State government to provide efficient, accessible and affordable medical services to the people.<\/p>\n

The Governor also called on the students to study hard to justify the government\u2019s investment in them.<\/p>\n
