Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) Special Military Task Force maintaining peace in Plateau and parts of Bauchi and Kaduna States have neutralised four suspected bandits.<\/p>\n

Capt. James Oya, the Media Officer of the operation made this known in a statement on Monday in Jos.<\/p>\n

The troops, he said, also arrested 120 others over various criminal acts within its areas of operation between Oct. 16 and Oct. 22.<\/p>\n

Oya said that some of the suspects were arrested for alleged kidnapping, armed robbery, cattle rustling, drug peddling, among other criminal acts.<\/p>\n

He explained that other suspects were arrested over illegal possession of arms and ammunition, adding that it rescued four kidnapped victims during the operation.<\/p>\n

\u201dWithin the period under review, we neutralised four suspected bandits, arrested 73 suspects with arms and ammunition and 37 others for kidnapping.<\/p>\n

\u201dWe rescued four kidnapped victims, arrested two suspected cattle rustlers and four suspected drug peddlers.<\/p>\n

\u201dWe prevented five attacks on vulnerable communities and promptly responded to 28 distress,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The troops, he added, also recovered sophisticated weapons from some of the suspects.<\/p>\n

He said some suspects who were arrested for car and motorcycle theft have been handed over to police for prosecution.<\/p>\n
