{"id":99569,"date":"2023-11-02T20:20:07","date_gmt":"2023-11-02T19:20:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/insecurity-niger-govt-to-relocate-affected-students-schools-to-minna"},"modified":"2023-11-02T20:20:07","modified_gmt":"2023-11-02T19:20:07","slug":"insecurity-niger-govt-to-relocate-affected-students-schools-to-minna","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/insecurity-niger-govt-to-relocate-affected-students-schools-to-minna","title":{"rendered":"Insecurity: Niger govt to relocate affected students, schools to Minna"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Niger State Government has announced that it is set to relocate schools shut down due to the activities of bandits and other criminals to Minna, the state capital.<\/p>\n<p>The Commissioner Ministry for Lands and Survey, Maurice Bello Magaji made this known during the state Post EXCO briefing in Minna.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the state government took the decision in order to ensure that the students from the affected areas continue with their education uninterrupted.<\/p>\n<p>Asked if the state had given up in the fight against banditry, Magaji disclosed that the state government is not resting on its oars but working tirelessly to ensure insecurity is adequately tackled before relocating the schools back to their original locations.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, \u201cThe State government is working round the clock to combat banditry and pending when the security situation is addressed, the affected students will be moved to Minna where schools will be built for them. This is because of the compassion that the state governor Muhammad Umar Bago has for the affected students.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The commissioner also decried encroachment into school land by residents of the state while urging them to as a matter of urgency vacate such areas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201d We (government) intend to reclaim all school lands encroached into by the people. Those that have encroached into areas in the state will be given else where to build.
