Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The people of Enenurhie and Enhwe communities have urged the Delta State government to urgently repair the collapsed Enenurhie-Enhwe bridge, which connects the area to Ughelli, Bayelsa, and Port-Harcourt in Rivers State.<\/p>\n

President-General of Enenurhie Community, Peter Manson, who said \u201cthis damage is beyond community effort,\u201d appealed to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to come to their aid and help repair the bridge.<\/p>\n

A motorist, Keno Omofezi, who was on his way from Igbide to Oleh, lamented the ugly state of the bridge.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is indeed painful to think about the situation we found ourselves in. As you can see, the damage is huge, colossal, and terrible. We kindly call on our governor to come and help us out of the ditch we suddenly found ourselves in,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Omofezi stressed that the bridge is important as it connects Isoko communities to the popular East-West Road.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, we cannot afford to stay without it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Another passerby, Anthony Okpiyalele, who also spoke , suggested a short-term action, saying that the state government should fix the damaged bridge first and then work on a long-term plan for a new, longer bridge as a lasting solution to the problem.<\/p>\n
