Peace deal: Rwanda, DR Congo to sign 'declaration of principles' in Washington

Africa-Press – Rwanda. The Ministers of foreign affairs of Rwanda and DR Congo are set to sign a “declaration of principles” on Friday, April 25, in Washington D.C., under the facilitation of the United States government.

The US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will host Olivier Nduhungirehe and his Congolese counterpart Thérèse Kayikwamba Wagner for the signing of the agreement on Friday, according to a schedule published on the US State Department website.

The signing ceremony is scheduled for 2 p.m. Washington D.C. time (8 p.m. Kigali time).

Details of the upcoming agreement were not made public.

After the signing, Nduhungirehe and Wagner will have one-on-one meetings with the Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau.
