Africa-Press – Rwanda. Former Manchester United winger Noam Emeran and Josias King Furaha are among Rwandan players who stood out in their respective clubs abroad over the weekend as they both found the back of the net for FC Groningen in the Netherlands and FK Jerv in Norway respectively.

Elsewhere, Sanders Ngabo, Djihad Bizimana also enjoyed decent performances as the 2024/25 season gradually gets to its twilight.

Times Sport brings to you a wrap up the key performers of Rwanda players abroad over the weekend.

Noam Emeran (FC Groningen, Netherlands)

Emeran came from the bench in the 46th minute and scored with his first touch of the ball as FC Groningen destroyed RKC Waakwijk by 6-1 at Euroborg Stadium on Saturday.

The French-born Rwandan winger has found playing time at the Eredivisie a difficult commodity this season where he has made three appearances for his team from which he amassed a meagre game time of 64 minutes.

Emeran was pleased with his first professional goal for Groningen as he hopes to score more.

“Now I have to keep going and show what I can do. Maybe I wasn’t good enough at first and others did better than me.” He told RTV Noord

“But now we are here. I’ll take what I can get.”

Speaking about playing at left-back, he added, “I’m used to the attacking, I can also learn the defensive style.”

“I haven’t played much here, but I’m happy that I showed what I can do. And that I made everyone happy. I’m happy. Everyone is happy.”

Josias King Furaha (FK Jerv, Norway)

Winger Josias King Furaha scored the opener for Norwegian newly promoted second tier club FK Jerv as they drew 1-1 with Flekkeroy on Saturday, May 3. Furaha played on loan at Flekkeroy during the 2023 season where he scored three goals and provided 1 assist in 18 games.

Sanders Ngabo (AC Horsens, Denmark)

Hakim Sahabo (Beerschot, Belgium)

His team, Beerschot, may have already been relegated but Standard Liege loanee Hakim Sahabo enjoyed a brilliant performance during club’s 2-1 loss to Sint- Truidense on Sunday at Daio Wasabi Stayen Stadium. He played 83 minutes before making way for substitute Dean Huiberts.

Sahabo is expected to return to Standard Liege in June.

Jojea Kwizera (Rhode Island FC, USA)

Winger Jojea Kwizera played full throttle for Rhode Island FC who stayed at the Central Bank Stadium in Pawtucket on Saturday to draw with San Antonio FC.

Phanuel Kavita (Birmingham Legion FC, USA)
