Africa-Press – Rwanda. Rwanda’s Fidele Gatete and Jean Paul Ntambara helped Malatya Spor Kulubu secure qualification for the Turkish Amputee Super League after winning the Division 1 Amputee League on Sunday.

The team achieved the milestone after defeating Medical Park Samsun Disabled Power Sports Club 4-1 at the Yeşiltepe Amputee Football Field to finish the season unbeaten.

Gatete, who is the skipper of the Rwandan Amputee national team, scored 6 goals this season while his countryman Ntambara also played a key role in the team’s success.

Alpaslan Erkoç, the President of the Turkish Physically Disabled Sports Federation, congratulated Malatya on winning the Division 1.

“I am experiencing both happiness and sadness. It makes me proud that a team from a city that experienced the disaster of the century (Turkish Earthquake) has advanced to the Super League,” Erkoc told the press.

“I pray to God for mercy on those who lost their lives in the earthquake. It is also a source of pride that this team is an undefeated champion. I wish Malatya success in the Super League,” he added.
