Africa-Press – Rwanda. Rayon Sports have announced the signing of Tunisian midfielder Mohamed Chelly on a deal which will run until June 2026.
Chelly, 24, arrived in Kigali with new head coach and countryman Lotfi Afahmia to finalize the deal after days of talks over a move. He was unveiled at the club’s headquarters in Kicukiro on Thursday, July 3.
Before joining Rayon Sports, Chelly previously played for Sfax Railway Sport between 2018 and 2021 before joining Océano Club de Kerkennah from 2022 and 2025. Both teams play in the Tunisian second tier league. He has also played for Tunisia U23.
Chelly becomes the latest Blues signing, joining the likes of Burundian midfielder Gloire Tambwe, left back Prince Michel Musore, center back Chris Rushema who joined from Mukura VS. The club is also said to have agreed to signing Malian goalkeeper Drissa Kouyate.
Rayon Sports will represent Rwanda in the CAF Confederation Cup. The team, now under Lotfi, started training on July 1 but Chelly did not train with the rest of his teammates recently until the deal was completed.
