Africa-Press – Rwanda. Police and APR volleyball clubs will go head to head in the both the men’s and women’s finals of the 2025 Liberation Cup which concludes at Petit Stade indoor gymnasium, Remera, on Sunday, July 6.

Police VC set up men’s finals date against APR after defeating Rwanda Energy Group (REG) 15-5 in the tie break to complete an incredible comeback to set scores in five sets on Saturday.

The law enforcers were two sets down 22-25, 21-25 before pulling the game even after taking the third set 25-18 and 25-15 to force a tie break which they eventually won 15-5.

“We didn’t give up until our last breath. REG are a good team but, after dropping the first two sets, I still trusted in our victory. Our next focus right now is APR for the finals,” said Police VC coach Fred Musoni after the victory.

In the women’s category, APR WVC secured their spot in the final by sweeping Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) in three sets (25-17, 25-20, 25-19). Right attacker Lizzy Gasekgonye, playing her first match since her injury, played a key role for APR WVC, helping the club close out the match with a set point.
