Africa-Press – Rwanda. President Paul Kagame on Friday, July 11, promoted 190 officers in the Rwanda Correctional Service (RCS) and dismissed 219 others.
According to the changes announced by RCS, three senior officers were promoted from the rank of Chief Superintendent to Assistant Commissioner. These are Moses Ntawiheba, John Dusa and Michael Kamugisha.
Four officers were promoted from Chief Superintendent to Senior Superintendent. These are Beatrice Uwamahoro, Olive Mukantabana, Jean Pierre Olivier Bazambanza, and Emmanuel Hillary Sengabo.
Among the dismissed is Assistant Commissioner George Ruterana, who served as Director of Medical Services.
Another 18 officers were demobilized, while two others were dismissed by presidential order, according to the RCS.
The statement also indicates that 11 officers were promoted from Superintendent to Senior Superintendent, while three Chief Inspectors rose to the rank of Superintendent. 10 Assistant Inspectors were promoted to Inspector.
Other promotions include 62 Sergeants elevated to the rank of Senior Sergeant, 20 Corporals promoted to Sergeant, and 77 Warders promoted to Corporal.
The statement further noted that 88 officers were sent into retirement, among them senior officials such as Commissioner Jean Bosco Kabanda, Assistant Commissioner Camille Gatete, Assistant Commissioner Salim Munana Mugisha, and Assistant Commissioner Emmanuel Nshoza Rutayisire.
