Africa-Press – Rwanda. Rwanda international striker Abeddy Biramahire has expressed delight after joining Algerian outfit Entente Sportive Sétif (ES Sétif) on a two-year deal.

The 26-year-old forward completed his move from Rayon Sports on Thursday.

ES Sétif, one of Algeria’s most decorated clubs, plays in the country’s top flight, the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1.

“I am proud to be part of a great team that has won the CAF Champions League,” Biramahire said. “I believe this move will help me reach the heights that I want in my football career.”

Biramahire credited ES Sétif head coach Antoine Hey, who previously coached Amavubi, for playing a key role in securing the transfer.

“We worked together in the national team and now we reunite at club level. I will do my best not to disappoint him,” he added.

ES Sétif is a big football club in Algerian football, having won both the league and the national cup eight times. The club also boasts two CAF Champions League titles, won in 1988 and 2014.

Besides playing for Rayon Sports, Biramahire has played for a number of clubs in Rwanda including AS Kigali, Bugesera FC, Mukura Victory Sports, and Police FC. He also had international stints with Mozambique’s UD Songo and Al Suwaiq in Oman.
