Africa-Press – Rwanda. The Rwanda Football Association (FERWAFA) has cleared Bugesera FC to play in the 2025/26 Rwanda Premier League after meeting the requirements.
Bugesera FC was the only club denied license to feature in the league over failure to submit a letter confirming medical insurance for players and officials. The federation also fined the club failure to present the appointment of the team doctor.
The club also submitted licensing forms for the 2024/25 season instead of 2025/26 season.
However, the club filed an appeal to have the sanctions against it lifted after meeting the requirements.
“The appeal was accepted and the previous decision was overturned. But the club will have to pay a fine of Rwf500,000, due to errors in the initial submission of documents,” a FERWAFA official said.
In general, only five clubs namely Amagaju FC, Marines FC, Rutsiro FC, Musanze FC and Police FC completed all required documentation and met the minimum requirements.
Bugesera FC joins 10 other clubs which had been granted licenses but got sanctioned for administrative lapses.
