Rayon Faces FIFA Sanctions Over Robertinho's Wage Claim

Africa-Press – Rwanda. Rayon Sports have 45 days to have the cleared arrears owed to former coach Roberto Oliveira Goncalves, commonly known as Robertinho, or risk facing a transfer ban.

The world football governing sent the warning to the Blues after Robertinho claimed to the body that he was sacked in April with unpaid remuneration in excess off Rwf32 million ($ 22,500).

Failure to comply, FIFA warned, will result in sanctions, including a potential ban on registering new players at both national and international levels for up to three consecutive registration periods.

Robertinho, 65, parted ways with Rayon Sports following an unimpressive run of results that cost the club the title. He filed a lawsuit demanding the payment of his salary from January 2025 until the end of the 2025 season.

Times Sport understands that the Brazilian coach was earning $5,000 per month.

He recently landed a new job, where he will coach Saudi Arabia club Jeddah SC for the upcoming 2025/26 season.
