Africa-Press – Rwanda. Raphael Ngarambe, the current president of the Rwanda Volleyball Federation (FRVB), is eyeing another four-year term in office after he was announced as the sole presidential candidate for the upcoming elections.
The provisional list, issued by the federation on Tuesday, September 2, confirmed that Ngarambe, who has been leading the federation since 2021, remains the only candidate who meets the requirements for the president post.
The final list of candidates will be released on Monday, September 8, after which candidates will have a one-week campaign running from September 13-19, ahead of the elections.
Elsewhere, Geoffrey Zawadi will run for the position of first Vice President in charge of Finance and Administration, while Janvier Gasarasi is the only candidate for position of Second Vice-President in charge of Technical Matters.
The Secretary General position has two contenders in Jean Jacques Dukunde and Vedaste Ntanteteri. Henriette Umulisa is vying for the Treasurer role.
The Conflict Resolution Committee also has two candidates in Clemence Ishimwe and Alphonse Nsengiyumva while the Audit Committee features Rose Uwamariya and Scholastique Bitukuze.
The FRVB election will take place on September 20.
