Africa-Press – Rwanda. Residents of parts of Kigali and Western Province have been alerted about power outages planned this week due to maintenance works, according to Rwanda Energy Group (REG)
On Friday, September 12, between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM, some parts of Gikomero, Rusororo, Rutunga and Ndera sectors in Gasabo District will see outages as there will be maintenance works on Rutunga feeder, REG said in an announcement on Monday..
The power utility company also informed its customers that due to maintenance works on Kilinda Mission and Birambo feeders in Western Province, there will be a planned power outage on Tuesday, September 9, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM in some districts.
The areas to be affected include Gashari, Rugabano, Murambi, Murundi Ruganda sectors and part of Rubengera Sector in Karongi District, Mukura Sector in Rutsiro District, and Nyange Sector in Ngororero District.
For safety purposes, REG explained, the public should always be cautious on electrical installations as electricity might be restored before the set timelines.
“The Management of REG regrets any inconveniences that may be caused by this activity and appreciates your full cooperation,” it said, adding team is working to improve service reliability.
