Africa-Press – Rwanda. After falling short in the final against Red Arrows in Zanzibar in 2024, APR FC standing captain Jean Bosco Ruboneka made it clear that he and the rest of team is in Tanzania with a mission to win the CECAFA Kagame Cup trophy.

APR FC advanced to the semifinals of the tournament after finishing top of the group. They will now face the team that will top Group C in the semifinal while Singida Black Stars, who will face Rayon Sports in the first round of the CAF Confederation Cup, will face KMC in another last four encounter.

Ruboneka was part of the team that lost the final to Red Arrows last years but he warned rivals that his team is performing well to win every match till the final.

“The team we have is motivated to do better and we will have something to offer to our fans,” said the former AS Muhanga midfielder.

“Our goal is to win CECAFA, that is what brought us here, we must come together as players, coaches, club leaders, and then see if we can win the cup which is the man goal that brought us here.”

“Every team came prepared but we are more ambitious than the other teams. We will do everything we can to win the cup,” he noted.

The CECAFA Kagame Cup 2025 is sponsored by Betika, President Paul Kagame provides US$60,000 towards the cash prizes.
