Africa-Press – Rwanda. Four-time Tour de France winner and reigning UCI men’s road race champion Tadej Pogačar will lead Slovenian national team roster set to compete at the 2025 UCI Road World Championships, scheduled to take place in Kigali from September 21-28.

The unveiled Slovenian team will field eight riders only in the men’s elite category, while it won’t have any representatives in the women’s elite, under-23, or junior categories.

The announced squad includes Roglič Primož, Matej Mohorič, Domen Novak, Luka Mezgec, Matevž Govekar, Gal Glivar, Jaka Primožič, and Matic Žumer.

Slovenia becomes the seventh nation to unveil its roster, following Germany, the United States, France, Australia, New Zealand, and host nation Rwanda.

Pogačar, who won the 273.9 km men’s elite road race at the 2024 UCI Road World Championships in Zurich, Switzerland, will defend his title in Kigali. The upcoming race covers 267.5 km, with 5,475 metres of elevation gain, and will be contested at an altitude of 1,850 metres—the elevation at which Kigali sits.
