Africa-Press – Rwanda. Big money prize in excess of Rwf 215 million and only one spot in the CAF Champions League group stages are up for grabs as Rwandan champions Rayon Sports WFC and Tanzanian giants JKT Queens lock horns in the CACAFA Women’s Cup final at Kasarani Stadium on Tuesday, September 16.
Rayon Sports made history to become the first Rwanda women’s team to reach CECAFA Women’s final after eliminating Uganda’s Kampala Queens in the semifinals on penalty shootouts (4-2) after the match had ended goalless.
Meanwhile, 2023 champions JKT Queens advanced to the finals after a 4-2 on penalty shootouts victory against home side Kenya Police Bullets in the semifinals.
The pair had played out a 1-1 draw in 120 minutes of action.
The Blues go into the final looking highly motivated by the recent Rwf 5,000,000 bonus token they received from new Rwanda FA president Fabrice while Blues men’s club president Thaddee Twagirayezu also flew to Nairobi to witness the historic final.
Game on!
