The AEL Limasol left back last played for the Rwanda in November 2024, when they faced Nigeria in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. He has since been sidelined due to a lengthy injury on his knee.
Amavubi head coach Adel Amrouche first left Imanishimwe out of the squad released earlier this week before changing his mind and added him to the squad after proving that he has fully recovered from the injury.
Rwanda will first welcome Benin on October 10 at the Amahoro Stadium before visiting South Africa on October 14 for the final round of the World Cup qualifiers which will decide who will secure the ticket to the United States, Mexico and Canada.

The battle took a new twist after South Africa were docked three points after world Football governing body sanctioned them with a 3-0 forfeit defeat over fielding an ineligible player against Lesotho.
