Africa-Press – Rwanda. After months of postponement, the elections for the leadership of the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) Rwanda are set to take place on November 8, according to the special committee in charge of organising the polls.
The committee released a list of approved candidates vying for various positions within the NPC.
The previous committee, led by Jean Baptiste Murema, was supposed to end its mandate on June 28 and oversee the election of new leaders. However, alleged internal disputes between members of the executive committee caused significant delays.
Jean Baptiste Murema is the leading president of National Paralympic Commiittee in Rwanda.
To resolve the problem, the National Council of Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) intervened, summoning the conflicting parties for mediation. NCPD Secretary General Emmanuel Ndayisaba confirmed that the issues have now been settled, paving the way for the elections to proceed as planned.
