Taleb Warns APR Players to Maintain Focus After Win

Africa-Press – Rwanda. APR FC head coach Abderrahim Taleb has urged his players to maintain focus and build on theiremphatic 3-0 derby victory over Rayon Sports at Amahoro Stadium on Saturday, November 8, warning against complacency as the league season progresses.

The reigning Rwanda Premier League champions produced arguably their best performance of the season so far with goals from Ronald Ssekiganda, William Togui, and Mamadou Sy securing a dominant win that lifted them to fifth place with 11 points and two games in hand.

“We earned this deserved win because we played well. We created many chances and played with patience. I told my players that big games like this need focus and confidence,” said Taleb.

While delighted by the victory, Taleb emphasized the need for continued discipline and consistency.

“Of course I am happy for the win, but we need to remain focused for the next matches. The league is tough, but we have to be positive and look for more wins. We need to take every game seriously, not just Rayon.”

The Moroccan tactician was taking charge of his first derby since being appointed in June, a match that came amid growing pressure following a run of unconvincing results. The victory, he said, was a morale booster for both players and fans.

“Beating a team like Rayon Sports brings more confidence. Derbies are always difficult, but if you prepare well, you can win easily — and that’s what happened. Now we need to focus on the next matches to secure more important points,” he said.

APR FC will return to action on November 22, when they travel to face Musanze FC at Ubworoherane Stadium after the international break.
