Africa-Press – Rwanda. Angolan students in the fields of Science and Technology will start, from today until the 4th of August, an online training in the development of digital games, to be given by Brazilian creators.
The training, which will be administered by the Brazilian game studio “Dissireal”, aimed at all science and technology actors, is part of an agreement signed between the Angolan Computer Society (SAC) and the Brazilian Association for the Development of Digital Games (Abragames ), during the biggest electronic games festival in Latin America, Brazil’s Independent Games Festival (Big Festival), held from the 7th to the 10th of this month.
The first part of the event is held online, and the second in person, in Luanda. The contents focus on information on the gaming industry, training, capacity building and technical and methodological guidance on game creation, so that participants increase their technical and imaginary skills in the creation of ideas and game formation.
According to the event’s program, topics such as “The overview of the game industry and Game Design”, “Script”, “Art” and “Programming” will be addressed.
SAC vice-president, Gabriel Patrício, said that the training has a rich scientific content, which will help to strengthen national science and technology actors. The idea, said Gabriel Patrício, is to ensure that there is continuous training, in which the participants who best benefit from the training can then train other Angolans.
The vice-president stressed that the course serves as a preparation and antechamber of the First Women’s Circuit for the Creation of Digital Games, to be held next August, an initiative of the SAC.
“It is necessary for women to be in greater numbers, as it is, in our view, an opportunity for them to be trained for the upcoming festival”, he concluded.
