Bafakulera resigns from PSF Chairmanship

Africa-Press – Rwanda. The Chairperson of the Private Sector Federation (PSF), Robert Bafakulera, has resigned from his position citing personal reasons.

He announced this during the country’s private sector Board of Directors meeting on February 3.

“I want to inform you that this is my last meeting as the Chairperson. I have resigned due to personal reasons. I want to thank you for the support during my leadership and I will be available for any advice in case needed,” he said.

Bafakulera has been at the helm of the PSF for the last five years and spearheaded different initiatives such as the promotion of collective investments and capacity building for the members, among others.

He was first elected in 2018 and re-elected in March 2022.

Jeanne-Françoise Mubiligi, the first Vice Chairperson will now be acting until the general assembly convenes to elect a new leader, according to a statement released by the federation.

Mubiligi is the former Chairperson of the Chamber of Women and is among the private-sector players in the country.

Bafakulera is also a member of the Common Market of Eastern and Southern Africa Business Council Board.
