Africa-Press – Rwanda. Radisson Blu Hotel and Convention Center, Kigali, has donated to cover the Community-Based Health Insurance, known as ‘Mutuelle de Sante’ for 300 families in Jali a sector, Gasabo district.

The commitment was made on June 24, when the five-star hotel’s staff joined the local community during Umuganda, where they participated in construction and repair works on the bridges in the area.

“This is part of our June commitments, which happens to be the Community Action Month for the entire Radisson Blu group. It goes beyond just volunteerism, but to have a tangible, measurable impact on the community,” said Rob Kucera, the District Director of East Africa, Complex General Manager – Radisson Blu Hotel and Convention Centre, Kigali.

Kucera also stated that Radisson Blu is dedicated to continuous participation in community activities that go beyond a month’s commitment.

“This gesture, which will allow 300 families to have access to essential healthcare services, shows that it is possible for corporates to contribute meaningfully to the local communities they operate in,” commented Regis Mudaheranwa, the deputy district executive administrator, adding that such actions make the common people not only proud to host the business but also benefit from its presence.

Additionally, the hotel has a project called Ikizere that supports survivors of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi as well as other partnerships that involve the SOS Children’s Village and technical and secondary schools.
