Africa-Press – Rwanda. Rayon Sports’ center defender Isaac Mitima believes his side is capable of eliminating Libyan side Al Hilal Benghazi in the CAF Confederation Cup after both sides played a 1-1 draw in the first leg.
Rayon Sports host the Libya giants in the second round of the second leg on September 30 at Kigali Pele Stadium. The Al Hilal Benghazi delegation has been in Kigali for the last two weeks.
“Al Hilal Benghazi is a great team and a massively experienced club but we can beat them. We can eliminate them, we have been preparing for this match because we know how hard it is going to be, we have watched their videos and we know their strength and weaknesses,” Mitima said.
After winning the 2023 Peace Cup, Rayon Sports were exempted from the first preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup due to their stellar performance in the 2018 campaign where they reached the competition’s group stages.
Mitima called on supporters to join hands with the team so they get a win over the African giants.
In 2018, The Blues reached the group stages of the second continent’s biggest club competition.
