Africa-Press – Rwanda. Karongi District Council on Monday, October 23, suspended Vestine Mukarutesi from the position of Mayor citing failure to accomplish her duties.
Mukarutesi was elected Mayor in September 2019.
A statement posted on the district’s official X handle on Monday regarding her suspension read: “An extraordinary meeting of the district council of Karongi has taken a decision to suspend Madam Vestine Mukarutesi from the duties of leading the district because of failure to accomplish her duties as she should.”
