APR women basketball are keen on beating Kenyan side Equity Bank to finish the group stages of the FIBA Zone V women’s championship unbeaten.

The pair face off in the final Group A game at Lycée de Kigali gymnasium on Wednesday and APR, who have not lost in their past two outings, are eager to beat the Kenyans to finish at the top and keep their title hopes alive.

“We want to win all our games; it will be tough away but we are looking forward to setting a record and winning the title,” said club interim coach Deo NKurikiyinka.

APR beat Burundian Gladiators 86-68 on Sunday, October 29, before outscoring Tanzania’s Vijana Queens on Monday, October 31, 67-57 to make it two wins in as many games.

Meanwhile, REG face Uganda’s JKL Lady on Wednesday as they look to conclude the group stages on an impressive note after suffering a 42-72 shock defeat to KPA on Tuesday night.

Four quarterfinalists will advance to the semifinals where the winners will face off in the final to battle for the trophy. The losers in the last tour will play a third-place game.
