Africa-Press – Rwanda. Bafana Bafana star man Percy Tau is aware of the tough task awaiting his side when they face Rwanda in Tuesday’s 2026 World Cup Group C qualifier at Huye Stadium.
Tau was on target as South Africa beat Benin 2-1 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday but the Al Ahly forward remains concerned that Amavubi will be a hard nut to crack.
“We go to Rwanda, but we must be cautious, although we will still be confident,” Tau told the media in a post-match press conference.
“We know it is going to be difficult in Rwanda, but we will do our best.”
Saturday’s victory saw South Africa lead the charge in Group C while Rwanda, who settled for a goalless draw with Zimbabwe on November 15, are joint second alongside Nigeria and Lesotho who played out a 1-1 draw on Thursday.
It is the first time South Africa and Rwanda are going to play at senior football level.
