Africa-Press – Rwanda. The Land officer of Remera Sector in Gasabo District, Kigali, Elisee Ndamiyimana, was stabbed to death during the night of April 19, Rwanda National Police Spokesperson ACP Boniface Rutikanga confirmed to The New Times.

He said the two suspected murderers have not yet been arrested.

According to information shared by a night patrol team, the victim was stabbed to death while heading home, during a light drizzle, in Amarembo Village, Musezero cell, Gisozi sector.

His wife and children who were also with him were not attacked.

“The 53-year-old Elisee Ndamiyimana was stabbed to death by two criminals. He was rushed to Kacyiru Hospital where he immediately succumbed to injuries caused by the attack.

His wife, Jeanne d’Arc Umuhoza, testified that her husband had come to see her in the Kinamba area where she runs a family business.7

After a downpour, they were going home with their two children aged between 11 and 16 years old when men suddenly attacked the husband and stabbed him.

“When we were talking yesterday, he told me he had a lot of work. He was the land officer for Remera Sector but he was also supporting other sectors in Gasabo,” a local government official in Kimihurura Sector told The New Times.
