Africa-Press – Rwanda. Amavubi winger Rafael York has left the team’s camp in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire after suffering a hamstring injury.

The Gefle IF player featured for 66 minutes in Amavubi’s loss 1-0 to Benin on Thursday, June 6 at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium.

“Due to a hamstring strain injury, Rafael York is leaving the group to go home for further treatment. We wish him speedy recovery,” read a statement from FERWAFA on Friday, June 7.

York has been out of the national team for a year following a series of injuries. He only returned recently for this month’s World Cup qualifiers.
