Mutsinzi off to good start in Europa League qualifiers

Africa-Press – Rwanda. Amavubi defender Ange Mutsinzi got off to a good start at the UEFA Europa League qualifiers as his new club Zira FK beat Moldovan side Sherrif FC 1-0 on Thursday, July 11.

Mutsinzi joined Zira FK recently. The team plays in the Azerbaijan topflight.

This is the defender’s first time to play in the Europa League qualifiers.

During the victory over Sheriff FC, Mutsinzi came on as a substitute in the 77th minute to replace his Ivorian counterpart Stephane Acka.

He put up a good display in defence as his team moved on to keep a clean sheet and win the game 1-0, thanks to an 88th minute strike by Georgian attacker Davit Volkovi.

“I am grateful for the win and the progress I am making. I believe I will keep getting better. There is potential, talent and zeal to be a top striker,” Mutsinzi said after the match.

“I just have to continue working hard and learning from my coaches and teammates. We won as a team,” he added.

The second leg of the game will be held on July 18.
