Africa-Press – Rwanda. Veteran midfielder Haruna Niyonzima was pleased to score on his return to AS Kigali with his goal securing three points from Saturday’s away win over Bugesera FC in Nyamata.
The former Amavubi skipper netted the only goal of the game in the 52nd minute as AS Kigali beat Bugesera FC 1-0 on Saturday.
Niyonzima, who rejoined the Citizens during the January transfer window just months after having his Rayon Sports contract terminated, said that he was delighted with the goal much as it helped his side start the second round of the league on a bright note.
“The goal that I scored seems interesting to me because it gave the team three points,” Niyonzima told the press.
AS Kigali reclaimed their third place on the table with 29 points, seven behind league leaders Rayon Sports who have a game to spare. They welcome Musanze FC to Kigali Pele Stadium on Sunday, February 9, kickoff 3pm.
