Africa-Press – Rwanda. Rwanda Handball Federation (FERWAHAND) has announced the appointment of Tunisian tactician Hafedh Zouabi as the new Head Coach of both the Men’s and Women’s National Handball Teams.

Zouabi has signed a two-year contract, becoming the first officially appointed coach to lead the national teams.

Previously, the national teams were managed by coaches appointed on a temporary basis for specific tournaments.

Among those who previously led the teams is François Xavier Ngarambe, who recently guided Rwanda’s U20 side to a bronze medal at the Intercontinental IHF Trophy, following their semi-final loss to the USA.

Coach Zouabi’s first major task will be to prepare the men’s senior national handball team for the Africa Cup of Nations, which will be hosted in Rwanda from January 21 to 31, 2026.
