Africa-Press – Rwanda. Kenya has been awarded the hosting rights for the 2026 CAVB Zone V Club Championship for both the men’s and women’s categories, scheduled to take place from February 8 to 16 in Nairobi.

The nine-day tournament will bring together the top four teams from each of the 12 member federations of the Africa Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) Zone V, representing clubs from across the East African region.

The last edition was won by Rwanda’s APR, in both the men’s and women’s categories.

To win the hosting rights of the upcoming tournament, Kenya outbid Ethiopia and Uganda.

“The CAVB Zone V Executive has entrusted the Kenya Volleyball Federation with hosting this championship,” said CAVB Zone V President Sadik Nasiwu.

Zone V, the largest of the continental zones, consists of Burundi, Eritrea, Djibouti, Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Somalia, and Egypt.

The Nairobi edition will be the 4th edition, with previous editions hosted in Kigali (2019 & 2023) and Kampala (2025).
