Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>\u201cOUR 8-8 WACU\u201d comic book, is a recently published document stressing the importance of social dialogue and tripartism in the current development trends. Despite most other writers preferring to use text-written books, the writer of this particular book, Jordie-Michel Musoni, pursued storytelling.<\/p>\n

He believes that storytelling, drawings and cartoons is a way to attract the youths to know more about engaging in a decent work that would foster their economic growth.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe hope that this tool will help our members to disseminate this information, to raise awareness to people on how they can strive to achieve better and decent jobs that foster their economic living,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

Chris Rutayisire, the cartoon artist who participated in the composition of the book is of the view that using cartoons in story telling requires high flexibility, but yields better results.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe developed the story and added three topics in the same story so it required being flexible and patient, because there were technical and grammatical errors in storytelling, but we managed to achieve it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Olivier Dalichau, the Country Director of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, which initiated the creation of the book says that it will contribute to the social dialogue on the working conditions of Rwandans.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a pleasure for us to commission the writing of this book, which contributes to the social dialogue, to improve the working conditions of Rwandans,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Most readers of the book commended the document and asserted that it can be disseminated to schools, universities to make sure it gets a wider reach. The book\u2019s content is in line with the Sustainable Development Goal 8 and it is where the book derives the name. It also talks about the International Labour Organisations\u2019s core conventions (ILO) and the 8 most related Rwandan Labour Laws.<\/p>\n
